Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for the celebration of the Christ Child who came to save us from our sins. To help us prepare Kathi Buell created a thought-provoking as well as entertaining program!

Sunday June 20, 2021 was a bittersweet day for our MCC congregation. Our dear Craig Johnson gave his final inspiring sermon as our Pastor. Craig and his wonderful wife Sue have retired. We are all excited for this new phase in their life, however, it is hard to say good-bye.
They will always have a special place in our hearts!
They will always have a special place in our hearts!
A team of us planned the day with the utmost care. Making sure each moment would move along on schedule and would be packed with our love for Craig and Sue. But none of us prepared for the projector to quit! As hard as they tried, they could not make it work. But Craig, being Craig, did not let that slow him down a bit and declared we were back to the 80s when we actually had to use hymnals and paper & pen! Then he proceeded to humorously describe his slides throughout his sermon.
Following the service one of our Deacons gave a tribute to Craig and Sue and prayed for them. After which, our church Chairman presented them with a gift from the congregation. Craig stepped up to thank all the congregation and present us with a gift. Following all the gift giving, we had a time where some shared tender short stories of Craig & Sue. Of course, we ended by placing our hands on them and praying (a bit tearfully) for their next step on their journey!
Finally to stay in the tradition of the MCC, we completed our celebration with food, laughter...
and maybe a few more tears!

CONGRATULATIONS GRADS!

At MCC we treasure our youth.
it is a joy to all to watch them grow into wonderful young adults.
This week we honored 3 who have graduated. Cassidy, Logan and Nicholas. After the church service where we prayed for them, we celebrated with cake, coffee and punch.

No more required masks... regular services that we all can attend...we can now breathe deep!
Through all the Covid-19 struggles and trials we had some faithful members who went above and beyond! So many did so much but these faithful stood out.
Mary, Myra, Kathy and Greg of the worship team worked every Thursday to record a church service so we could view it from home on Sunday morning.
Sonny and Scott worked many, many hours to upgrade our kitchen. Pastor Craig acknowledged their faithfulness during our 5/23/21 service.
Oh...they grow up so fast! Our dear Cameo is getting married! A wedding shower hosted by her sister-in-law and mother-in-law to be gave us the opportunity to shower her with our love and gifts!

LOGAN HEADING TO JOIN TENTMAKERS
Our church is excited that Logan L has felt God’s calling him to be a part of Tentmakers. Logan has been a part of MCC for several years. He was confirmed here and we have watched him mature not only into a young man but a strong Christian. He is always willing to help wherever needed including computer and sound. He is gifted in many areas with his art being exceptional. Logan is a Senior at Barnum High School. He has been accepted into the TENTMAKERS Year on Mission.
His Dates to start are August 8, 2021 through August 8, 2022
His goal is $7000.00 ($4,500 goes to the 40-Day Daniel Leadership Institute; $2,000 goes toward the international mission trip; and $500 goes for travel, resources,
and materials for ministry.
Why does Logan want to do this?
(Logan's words) I believe that God has called me to this program to deepen my relationship with him, and with my family and friends. It will prepare me for the future, help me make disciples, and equip me with the tools I need to spread the gospel and shine God's love in my community back home. I feel very blessed to have this opportunity.
What can you do to encourage and support? Number one is pray!
You may also support Logan through donating at church and writing Logan’s name on the donation. Or you may click on this link to donate through a Go Fund Me page: http://www.gofundme.com/logan-liggett-and-tent-makers
Logan, we are praying with anticipation as you prepare to follow
the Lord’s new path for you!

Special Sunday Service 2/14/21
Quarterly the Deacons with Pastor plan a special Sunday Service. The service of 2/14/21 focused on four of the "I am" statements of Christ.
I am the Good Shepherd,
I am the Light of the World,
I am the Bread of Life, and
I am the Gate for the Sheep.
Pastor Craig dressed as a shepherd during Jesus' era and brought to life each of the statements. The Deacons read Bible verses and led prayer. It was a moving service.
